Costume Contest
What would a convention be without a costume contest? Last year's 'trial run' with hosting this contest brought out some amazing costumes and judging was quiet difficult. So it should come as no surpirse that we're bringing it back this year but in a much grander format. Come dressed as your favorite character and prepared to show some spirit because it takes more than good sewing abilities to win our costume contest.
Here's the scoring sheet we'll use to judge the costumes.
Iron Artist
It's like Iron Chef, but the secret ingredient is an anime/gaming/manga character rather than food (well, maybe soylent green will make an appearance). This has always been a very popular event in FreeCons past and the resulting artwork was amazing. Judging is based on varying factors such as creativity and execution, so come out and bring your A-game.
Jeopardy - Anime Edition
It's America's favorite gameshow but anime-style. Categories will test your knowledge of all things otaku, from seiyuu to song-writer. As always, answers must be given in the form of a question.
Name That Tune!
It's a classic game but to the tune of Anime. The rules are simple: be the first person to correctly identify the song and earn points. Each round gets progressively harder and the last otaku standing wins!
You Don't Know JACT
Making it's fourth appearance, we will be humiliating, showcasing, and testing the knowledge of otaku contestants for everyone's enjoyment. Will we have a winner this year or will they be doomed to repeat history as the 'lesser of the losers'? If you can take the abuse or just, swing on by Saturday night.
